PatchPal Mobile App

A reporting and navigation tool built specifically for pothole crews. Pin locations, record measurements, find stockists, and connect your field data to the PatchPal Community Works programme — all from your phone.

Developed in partnership with Synqa Technologies Canada

Built for the people who fix roads

Every feature in the app is designed around how reactive repair crews actually work — fast, in the field, under pressure.

Pin and Navigate to Potholes

Spot a pothole you can't fix right now? Pin it on the map, save the location, and navigate straight back to it when you're ready to repair. No more relying on memory, rough descriptions, or word-of-mouth directions. Every saved location is stored against your account, organised by area, and ready to route to at any point.

Pinned locations can be shared across your crew or flagged for follow-up, making it straightforward to coordinate reactive repairs across a patch without duplicate callouts.

Approximate Depth and Width Measurements

At the point of reporting, the app provides approximate depth and width measurements for the pothole. These are field estimates rather than survey-grade readings, but they give crews and planners a useful gauge of repair scale before arriving on site — reducing the risk of turning up under-resourced or with the wrong quantity of product.

Measurement data is stored against each saved location, building a record of reported defects over time that can inform planning decisions and contractor conversations.

Find Your Nearest PatchPal Stockist

When you need product fast, the app's built-in stockist locator shows you the nearest supply point for PatchPal products. Search by your current location, view distance and contact details, and get directions — so you're never far from what you need on a reactive job.

As the UK distribution network grows, the stockist database will update automatically. The app is always connected to the latest supplier information.

PatchPal Community Works

The app is the gateway to the PatchPal Community Works programme. Where a pothole is reported through the app and local authority approval is already in place, the Community Works team can arrange a repair free of charge. On roads where approval has not yet been granted, the team will engage directly with the relevant local authority to seek the necessary permissions before any work begins.

The Community Works programme is not a replacement for contracted highways maintenance. It is designed to address potholes on roads where formal repair timelines are long, community pressure is high, and the case for a rapid, low-cost fix is clear.

PatchPal Community Works

Free repairs where the community needs them most

The Community Works programme represents a different approach to pothole repair in the UK. Rather than waiting for an authority's formal maintenance cycle, the programme identifies high-priority defects through the app, works within the local authority approval framework, and deploys repairs at no cost where permissions are in place.

Where approval has not yet been obtained, the Community Works team engages directly with the relevant local authority to seek the necessary permissions before any repair work begins. No unsanctioned work is carried out. The process is designed to complement, not bypass, the highways maintenance system.

  • Repairs carried out free of charge where local authority approval is in place
  • Full authority engagement process where permissions are not yet granted
  • Defects identified and prioritised directly through the PatchPal app
  • Designed to work alongside, not replace, contracted highways maintenance

Free Repairs

For communities on roads where approval is in place — pothole repair without the wait.
